are opportunities for the professionals of new technologies to meet each other.
The 15th edition of the Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival (FICEB) 2007 will take place next 3rd thru 7th of October 2007 in La Farga de L´Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain. The event, that has the support of the local government, the Generalitat de Catalonia and other entities related to the film industry, will once again work to dynamize and normalize the sex industry, as a platform for traditional public exhibition and is now also involved in risky film making in countries where pornography is punished with death sentences, like Egypt or Indonesia.
Apart from Woodman Entertainment, other producers like International Film Group,
Vendiocio, Zona 8 Films, Macromedia, Orion, Ruta 69, Hermanos Lapiedra, Tanya Tanya, Max Hardcore, Yolantranx, Grupo Vital and Kemaco will be present as exhibitors at the venue.
For those who want to give it a try as actors or actresses, a seminar directed by Italian director Giancarlo Candiano will offer an introduction to the industry and experience from a shooting, together with Anastasia Mayo and Roberto Chivas.
FICEB´07 will also host the opening of Rocco Siffredi´s new production. The actor returns to action with Furious Fucker, a feature film that combines his passion for porn with the one for motorbikes. And a popular actor and a pupil of Rocco´s, Nacho Vidal, will receive a tribute for his carreer. More than 1.500 títles show his long and prolific trajectory since he started out in the night-club Bagdad in Barcelona. He has worked in Hollywood since 1998 and his experience is both as an actor as well as a director and producer. Though he announced his retirement in May 2005 he has starred in several films since then.
Specific areas for the female, gay, lesbian and fetish public. The area though for the female visitors, directed by Laura Carrión, is one of this edition´s
novelties. More than 100.000 women have visited FICEB since 1992 and this will be the first time an exclusive area will be made available especially for them. The Official Stage of this part of the Festival will offer shows and catwalks of all kinds: proposals of make-up, tattoos and hairdos; tuppersex sessions; practical striptease lessons, sexuality workshops led by Pilar Cristóbal and Valérie Tasso and Empar Moliner´s glamour, presentations of books and other activities.
Two more specific areas, that were already present at former editions, have their own Jury and Awarss within the Festival, will complete FICEB´07: Club Bizarre, directed by Paco Campos, will show S/M and fetishism live on stage, and HeatGay, the gay and lesbian festival lead by Carlos Resa.
Spanish mainstream actress Cayetana Guillén Cuervo will once again be the President of Heatgay and fashion designer Francis Montesinos will be a guest of honor, and the participation of the director of Matinee, Manolo Soria, and theater director Xavier Albertí and author Eduardo Mendicutti, is also anticipated. Three photo exhibitions will also be shown at the area occupied by: two dedicated to Joan Crisol and Jalif and a collective creation named as: `Erotic Photo HeatGay´.
Paco Campos directs Club Bizarre, the space for S/M and fetishism within the Festival, that this year changes structures and renews its program, according to the need for innovation that is typical for FICEB. Open to amateurs and professionals during all opening hours, the classical sado-masoquist live sessions will be completed by specialized booths, conferences about bondage and initiation, book presentations, projections, videoart and fashion shows.
New technologies at FICEB 2007
During the five days of the event and, as in former editions, the program on the stages will gather the most important actors, directors and strippers, apart from more than 100 Spanish and international exhibitors that will present novelties. 3oooh Mobile Entertainment will demonstrate Mooobil, Spain´s first 3G adult videochat. Since its beginning, at the 3GSM Congress, held in Barcelona in February 2007, this product has been featured by "Forbes" and "Fortune Magazine" that have considered the company as "leader in erotic services´. This service is acceded through a videocall from one of the more than 2 million prepared cell
phones that are already being used in Spain.
El 7th Adult Webmaster Congress will highlight "the power of the Person´, discussing in different conferences and debates the tricks and tools to consolidate a personal brand in cyberspace in order to stand out among the million of proposals that compete online.
Un manifesto will report the marginalitzacions of porn cinema by the new Law of Cinema FICEB and APEOGA, the association that includes the main producers and distributors of adult cinema in Spain, have started a debate, during the last editions of the Festival, about the industry in Spain and the need for a deontological code for the profession. Within the context of the new Law of Cinema, the marginalitzacions of porn cinema from the rest of the others, FICEB´07 will present a public manifesto. The text, already been approved by many, will publish the sector´s opinion regarding this issue.
Prop0rn´07, networking and new technologies
Ten years have passed since adult content were first presented online and FICEB
contributes to instruct the professionals about how to increase and anticipate their additional activities. In the words of Juli Simon, the festival´s director, "FICEB has been the parting point for the start and professionalization of many adult film productions in Spain since the early ninties. Now, the industry is in a new era of explotations of the content with the help of the new technologies and, from the Festival we have the responsibility to spread this knowledge universally among all professionals. The first of these activities was rop0rn´07,
Meeting of Pornpros, a networking event about how to exploit adult entertainment and content with the new technologies and mobile phones. This first encounter was supported by the companies Thagson and International Film Grup, IFG, two of the country´s main producers. The get-together, celebrated July 5th, was attended by more than 200 professionals, as an outcome of the collaboration between the Festival and Marqueze Telecom S.A, creators of http://www.marqueze.net, leading adult portal in Spanish in the blogosphere.
FICEB grows with new festivals in Argentina and Portugal
FICEB has been consolidated as a platform for adult entertainment with the creation of other similar events in other areas of the world; to the already existing (Salao internacional de Cine Erótico de Lisboa, SIEL, and Sexe Català, in Manresa) three new festivals will be added in 2007: the Festival Internacional de Cine Erótico de Buenos Aires, FICEBA; Sexy´07, Expo do Sexo do Algarve and Euskalsex in Bilbao, Spain. FICEMEX, the brand of the Mexican event, will not be repeated due to the difficulties that the country imposes on the adult industry; in 2005 six of the attending artists, including Nacho Vidal, were arrested. The Buenos Aires International Erotic Film Festival, FICEBA, is creating a lot of expectation in the country and will take place in November, 15th thru 18th, at the venue Costa Salguero in the Argentinean capital.
Another novelty this year was Euskalsex, the I International Erotic Festival in Euskadi, that took place in the month of July, with actress Cicciolina as guest of honor. In August it´s time for Sexy´07, Expo do Sexo do Algarve, in Portugal.
